Found a box of old magazines and I began flipping through Stopped to read an interesting article written in 1972 It was based on the findings of a study of the pollution rates Of the three major rivers that run through the north-eastern States And the startling conclusion, it just left me shaking my head That every single life form in the whole North Atlantic would be dead Within fifty years time And if we can trust the numbers And if the facts are verified And if we still ignore the warnings This is global genocide As if we’re waiting for something or someone to make it all right And just like magic these problems will all disappear overnight As we explore new horizons this is the baggage we take Into environments far less forgiving, no room for mistake If we hope to survive

What kind of world shall we leave our children And generations yet to come We’re so preoccupied with wealth and power Where do these attitudes come from? A science fiction concept double-album originally released in May 2009. Almost all of the songs flow together, so for best results, burn the FLAC files to a CD and set it so there's no gap between tracks.

I began writing the first song that would eventually become this project in 1972, with further development inspired by a February 1973 magazine article by Peter Fonda in which he described the impending environmental holocaust caused by Man's destruction of the oxygen producing elements of Nature. Between 1973 and 1994 the idea was expanded to tell the story of the human habitation and industrialization of space, and the rehabilitation of Earth. These concepts were inspired by The High Frontier by Gerald K. O'Neill, as well as The Rama Series by Arthur C. Clarke.

In 2003 I began recording new versions using the computer. Digital recording allowed me more flexibility and gave me access to new sounds. This expanded the possibilities, and the project began to take a slightly different shape. New musical ideas presented themselves as I went along. I also decided to refine the story so that it more or less follows a central character. I rewrote many of the lyrics and rearranged the order of some of the songs so that it flows better.
